Dates are tricky overall, indeed, but we’re not aiming for precision here, quite the opposite. :) I’m no python developer but wouldn’t a [dateutil.parser.isoparse](https://dateutil.readthedocs.io/en/stable/parser.html?highlight=validate#dateutil.parser.isoparse) be enough?
