Additional context
Hi Shaddy,
copy only the sketchup_importer folder in your addons.
I did that. Tried to "install" the plugin by going to Edit>Preferences and then the add-ons tab. Clicked install and then navigated to that folder in add-ons. Click the install add-on button at the bottom. It seemed to have installed it but when I go to File>Import the sketch up format does not appear. Guess I'm still not doing it right.
Can you just make a simple boxy shape and see if that loads then try more complicated files? It might be the file or something else causing the problem.
Exactly the same problem here !! Any solution ?
this might help:
copy the folder "SketchUp_Importer" (the one you download) into the folder of blender add-ons (where it's supposed to be installed) for example 'C:\Users\
it might be because when installing it through the dialogue it seems to only copy 'init.py' and as it requires other files contained in the folder it won't work properly.
(perhaps a bit late, but if sb runs into this same issue might help)
If it has been solved, we may close this issue soon.
