Same problem. Any updates @UnknownSuperficialNight ?

TyraVex avatar Jan 02 '22 14:01 TyraVex

Same? No download. Looks like DNS lookup is not working. tried --async-dns-server=<IPADDRESS> with various ipv4 and 6 and w/o --disable-ipv6

Every other program has working connection. Aria2c itself is working on another.

Not sure why but disabling the asynchronous DNS resolver did it for me.

philblue1 avatar Feb 03 '22 14:02 philblue1

Native Access app (by Native Instruments) uses aria2c.exe to download their products. Several months ago downloading was broken: infinitive Waiting Connection... in the app.

On their forum I found this comment: Be sure to try changing your default isp dns on pc or mac to google or cloudflare. Seriously.

And, yes, I'm using my own DNS server. Is there any way to force aria2c.exe to work with any DNS? (as was before)

@philblue1 hello! How did you disable it?

UPD: Not relevant for me now. Native Accesses released (brand new) v3 and things go well

hotenov avatar Feb 18 '22 18:02 hotenov

I've also had this issue where aria2 stopped working. Use --async-dns=false to disable dns.

 --async-dns[=true|false] Enable asynchronous DNS.

                              Possible Values: true, false
                              Default: true
                              Tags: #advanced

Alternatively use --async-dns-server=1.1.1.1 or --async-dns-server=8.8.8.8 to use cloudflare or google dns directly.

--async-dns-server=IPADDRESS[,...] Comma separated list of DNS server address
used in asynchronous DNS resolver. Usually
asynchronous DNS resolver reads DNS server
addresses from /etc/resolv.conf. When this option
is used, it uses DNS servers specified in this
option instead of ones in /etc/resolv.conf. You
can specify both IPv4 and IPv6 address. This
option is useful when the system does not have
/etc/resolv.conf and user does not have the
                              permission to create it.
