Cannot recover on Linux

It seems #94 and #159 are happening again.

I'm on Kubuntu (using X11)- the issue happens with Chrome and Firefox (at least).

None of the proposed workarounds on those tickets work. This happens when in its own tab/window, and happens when dragging and when clicking for file selection.

Note: when clicking on select file, it seems to be filtering to only dirs or JavaScript Object Notation for some reason.
