Thanks for the extra input! To clarify, the fact that your file name contains undefined twice means that somewhere in the process of exporting, mdnotes was not able to access the required field (e.g. the citekey or something else). I wasn't able to reproduce this, but I added a few debug messages to this build: mdnotes-0.1.2-fx.zip. To install it you need to change the extension from zip to xpi.

After installing this version, could you go to Help > Debug output logging > Enable. Try exporting to markdown once again. After that, Help > Debug output logging > View output > File > Save. It should generate an HTML file that you can upload it to this issue by dragging and dropping it here.

Huh, that was unexpected. Does the name of the file follow the same rules as before? From the logs you sent me it seemed everything was correctly extracted (including the citekey), but for some reason you have an undefined before and one after and the citekey is not in your file name. Was this working before (do you remember the version?) or is this a new install (you've never used mdnotes before?).

I'll try to set up another fix with more debug info to try to narrow down the problem.

This was the first try;

Edit: I created new empty profile and installed v0.1.1 and it works!

I did notice one thing - I didn't use default BBT citekey format "goffmanForms1981" instead I changed it to authorYear goffman1981 in setting later

Now i will try 0.1.2!

I think that shouldn't cause any issues. Could you show me your settings for Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Config Editor and filter for mdnotes.files? I suspect there is a problem with the suffix/prefix of the mdnotes file

@argenos I found the cause - I cannot export when I have active this addon https://github.com/bwiernik/zotero-shortdoi I turned off the plugin and I could use Zotero without it.

sorry I didn't check this earlier - maybe you could update bug template issue asking people if your plugin will work with a new profile, so it could save time you and people claiming bugs when there is interference from other plugins

Thanks! I will add this to the template for sure and add some instructions for debugging (including the new profile).

As for the second note link, sometimes the Zotero notes don't correctly split the first line. Once you've opened that note, it should be fixed and you can try re-exporting.

I can confirm that this is indeed the issue: turning off the zotero-shortdoi plugin fixed the output for me as well.
