[PS1] Magical Date - Doki Doki Kokuhaku Daisakusen (Japan): Black screen after taito logo, but audio continues

While the game displays a black screen after the taito logo, the audio continues, even past the FMV. I can't skip the FMV, but I hear audio afterwards that I dont think plays on the title screen after mashing, so maybe I do have control. Ultimately, not sure exactly what's going on, other than that it goes beyond simply a missing FMV.
