[Feature Request] Catalogues and Matrices

Open ewalters99 opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

Description

I would like to see a feature to be able to add 'active' Catalogues and Matrices to a View. Currently an 'ArchiMate View' in Archi assumes a diagram is required. This of course is very useful, but:

  • it is commonly recognized in EA that Views can contain Diagrams, Matrices and Catalogues and 'other useful things'.
  • there have been discussions in the Forum about emphasizing that ArchiMate can be used and useful in a 'non-visual' way, since it's the concepts that are key, not their graphical representation. This point is made in the spec and in the recently published 'stylistic issues' document.

Obviously this is a non-trivial feature that requires a lot of effort. As this project is open source and welcome to contributions, will you be able to provide a full set of requirements, an implementation, and a pull request? Another option is to use jArchi to create these.

What does mean exactly?

What does mean exactly?

I've edited my original comment to make things clearer.

I can certainly provide requirements. I thought jArchi would be the engine for this, but how to do the UI and the integration with Archi ... I wouldn't have a clue! I can develop in JS but my Java is not good enough, I'm afraid.

Hi,

I've started working on a small javascript library to help create tables and matrices in Archi. So that should become much more easy to do.

That would be great! Let me know if I can help with this.
