Help needed: How are the templates generated?

I am thinking about contributing a version for Antora but cannot see how the dists are generated from the source. Is there any coded process which should be extended (it seems not to be Gradle based)? Please provide a Contributor guide.

The chapters are the same, but instead of the umbrella arch42-template.adoc there should be a nav.adoc. Additionally it might be necessary,

• to re-write the about-document (or even drop it),
• to migrate images,
• perhaps more.
