When I open the app, it does not open any cbr or cbz file.

There are several versions of the Simple Comic app out there so you should be clear about which one you're using.

For example, this version on the App Store is based on our fork over here and works fine in Big Sur.

For what it's worth, both this app and the App Store fork works for me, on Big Sur (on M1 mac, I suspect through Rosetta).

The free version on the Mac App Store is Universal for ARM (M1) and x86 (Intel).
