Create a tutorial on how to contribute to Monthly
Write a highly detailed, user friendly tutorial about how to contribute to the Monthly that is targeted for non-technical contributors who may not be familiar with Git, Github, MarkDown or other associated tech used in Monthly contributions.
Must have:
- Detailed overview of how to contribute issues/requests for new content
- Detailed overview of how to contribute Pull Requests
- Descriptions separately for News, Articles, Classifieds
- Images or screenshots
- Clear improvements over current guides for easily contributing for non-technical community members
Nice to have:
- Different kinds of examples of what should and could be contributed to each category
Current guides:
- https://monthly.aragon.one/guides/guide_for_submitting_a_new_pull_request/
- https://monthly.aragon.one/guides/guide_for_submitting_news/
- https://monthly.aragon.one/guides/guide_for_submitting_articles/
- https://monthly.aragon.one/guides/guide_for_submitting_classifieds/
We will allow for a maximum of 3 revisions to the Pull Request based on feedback given by the Monthly staff, if the PR still doesn't meet the quality and standard, we will close the PR.
This Issue should be finished and merged as soon as possible, this is first-come, first-served; the first proper Pull Request will be merged and will be awarded the associated bounty.

Hi @Smokyish, currently working on some video tutorials for this issue. Was wondering where you think the best place would be for those videos to live. I can create a new video tutorial page in the repo, place videos in the guide folders (though video content doesn't completely correspond to current guides), or another option I'm not aware of (placing it in the wiki, perhaps).
Would love to hear thoughts as I work through this. Thanks!
Hi @marikio, I am wondering how are you doing with the video. As a non-technical potential contributor myself I will be happy to provide feedback when I try to follow the tutorial. Thanks, Jean.
@Juanjoportable Just got back to it yesterday :). Should have a few videos together by the end of this week. Would love input after I post them!
Quick update, fell a bit behind on the tutorials and looks like it'll take me until the end of next week to push some through. Happy to collaborate as well @Juanjoportable if you're still up for it.
Hey @marikio replied to your dm - let me know when we can have a chat! Proposing to change the flow a little bit, to make participation easier, see the issue #19 -- did you already make these vids, if not we prob need to discuss first :) thx!
