Requesting to add a bunch of free books from Project Gutenberg
I'm still figuring out github, so I think I made a pull request against my own fork... Anyway, I propose to add the books I've added to a fork I made of the project here to the books section on the website. I haven't read all of them, but it would be neat to be able to type them without copy/pasting in the custom text section.
I will note that I haven't cleaned up the leading and trailing text added for the gutenberg website, so may want to do that before adding them—I could do this for any books which are agreed on to be added.
They are all from https://www.gutenberg.org/, which contains copyright-free books. They are from the top 100 downloads in the last week or month.
Cheers
Please give me a day or two to incorporate these books. It requires a bit of work (not too much) to find the chapters, fix formatting, typography (like "straight quotes" to “angle quotes”), add the cover image, etc.
By the way, I think the books mode deserves its own interface, a "wall of text" where we present complete pages to the user. Then either each line or each paragraph is a separate "lesson". But this is another feature, I am hoping to add sooner or later.
Awesome! Is there a template or schema I could reference so I could update text to simplify the process in the future?

I hope I'm not disturbing the discussion, but I'd like to express how valuable the books mode is and could become.
Before discovering this project, I spent considerable time manually slicing ebooks into smaller sections to use with Tipp10 for typing practice. As someone with strong ADHD, I've found that using a typing trainer significantly enhances my ability to absorb and retain written material. The unique combination of actively reading, memorizing text, and immediate feedback from typing mistakes has dramatically improved my comprehension, vocabulary, and orthographic skills.
Since then, I've been searching for a platform that allows straightforward EPUB uploads for typing practice. With Keybr's active community, there's great potential for further integration — perhaps even syncing reading/writing progress with tools like KOReader for ebook devices. XD
Not really asking or requesting anything, just felt like sharing my experiences and hinting at potentially equally positive impact for other ppl. :D 🌹
