Feature request: make letters that need two key presses to be written count as two characters
In languages like Spanish, characters like ó require two keys to be pressed to type them ( ´ + o). When looking at the typing speed per character, it is normal that the typing speed for pressing two keys is half as much as it is for pressing just one. I feel like the program expects me to type ´ + o at least twice as fast as anything else, which is completely unrealistic.
Thanks for considering.
In czech it is pretty similar. Most common accented letters (like ěščřžýááíéúů) are single press letters. Some less common (like ďťň) need to press shift, then press accent key, release shift and press letter. I've been able to push myself up to 30wpm with these multiple keypress letters, but struggle to get faster, even when overal typing speed is over 70wpm. This really does not help in Guided lessons.
Having the same problem in Portuguese.
This also blocks you from progressing. For example, I'm currently at 60 WPM, but I have to have the "Target typing speed" below 28 WPM, or else I can't do anything other than practice acuted chars. I can't also focus on my slower chars, that are maybe at 45'ish WPM.
Came here to suggest this. It's really a great add for Spanish. Right now, I'm facing the same problems as xbello.
I got the same struggle with portuguese. I got to lower the target speed to progress. The problem is that it lowers the target speed for all next characters as well.
