"Always truthy" graphite check never results in error

I have Cabot hooked up to our graphite server. The graph for a single metric is hovering between 2-5, with some null values in between that are not showing on the graph (similar to the "null as zero" vs "connect" option for null values in grafana).

To test I just made a check for "less than or equal to" 5000. But every time I run it, it passes. Theoretically this should fail every time. Could there maybe some issue because there are null values? (The metrics are counts from StatsD).

Probably the last value is being null constantly, happened to me a couple times.
