I cleared cache, and can still repro it when inviting a new user.
after clearing cache, the "Pending" user turns up in the membership list though. This is pretty horrid UX...
also, the problem isn't just lack of local echo - but remote echo too

i just had another of these (this time e2ee room)
got this again on build 859. the room in question was e2ee and very busy at the time. have rageshaked

This is still the case, and still frustrating. If you're on wifi, and you walk out of wifi coverage, the app will sit stuck spinning for aaaaaaages before it realises...
push is broken for me with or without event cache enabled ftr (as of build 845)
