as a super quick fix i'd slap `opacity: 0.5` if the conn's lost

i just had a terrible experience trying to watch a video i'd just uploaded. it randomly stopped playing during the vid, at different points, despite having claimed to have downloaded...

a really nice refinement would be to put a timer on the hand-raise so you can see how long someone has been hanging around for.
(context: i couldn't understand why my bluetooth mic wasn't being detected. except it had been, i just needed to scroll). sound-effects where devices are added/removed would help a lot too.
yup, i know, and i think it was an error, especially as desktop devices are probably still the primary platform :)
