Fetching from s3 mirror

Open ecksun opened this issue 9 years ago • 2 comments

It would be helpful to me if aptly had the ability to mirror private repositories hosted on s3.

It is not entirely clear from the documentation that this is unsupported by s3, but this discussion seems to state so.

Moreover, when I simply try to create a mirror with the following command:

aptly mirror create repo-mirror s3://some-bucket.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com ci

I get this error:

ERROR: unable to fetch mirror: s3://some-bucket.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/dists/ci/Release: Get s3://some-bucket.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/dists/ci/Release: unsupported protocol scheme "s3"

I potentially have this use case also. It is possible using static website hosting with a special policy only allowing specific principal ARN's rather then the default static website hosting bucket policy allowing: "*" Thats what the AWS documentation states anyway.
