How can I add/replace the Debian installer images?

Open tranphuquy19 opened this issue 7 months ago • 1 comments

I need to integrate custom Debian installer images (vmlinuz, initrd.gz) that use a newer kernel into my repository. I've built them from this repo https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/debian-installer

I tried replacing installer images in the path ~/.aptly/public/debian/dists/bullseye/main/installer-amd64/current/images, and I realized that I needed to update the checksum in the Release file, specifically at the line with path main/installer-amd64/current/images/SHA256SUMS. However, when I rebuilt the repo, I had to perform all these steps manually. it's really tedious.

Is there an aptly command (similar to aptly repo add) specifically designed for managing the installer images? Thanks!

Hi @tranphuquy19 !

I don't think this is currently possible. A mirror is more or less a static copy, including the installer.

Maybe functionality could be added to add installer files to a repo, which toghether with imported mirrored packages (base system, udebs) would publish a installer..

Does it need to be a Debian installer ? If just a iso installer with custom packages from aptly is needed, something like https://github.com/molior-dbs/molior-tools might be hellpful.
