I'm working with appium version 1.22.0 and the latest released version of appium inspector. The inspection of appium elements keeps loading and I can't visualize the screen.

I have removed derivedData folder, restarted XCode and many other actions and I still can't solve the problem.

The strangest thing is that it connects and loads the application on the cell phone.

in the inspector, right click and click "inspect" in order to bring up the debug tools. switch to the console log. is there any error in there? also, have you tried clicking the 'refresh' button? also, is there anything in the appium server log which indicates a problem? you could paste your appium server log here.

I mention something that I did not mention in the initial problem and that is that the operating system of the mobile I am working with is iOS 15.1.

In the image you sent there is a "Console" tab in the developer tools. Click that and see if anything like an error is in the log.

I tried the report thing you mention and it still doesn't work. I tried other reports for more users and they don't work either, I don't know what to do anymore.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling appium and nothing.

I'm not sure what to do either. At this point at least we know it's not an issue with Appium Desktop. @mykola-mokhnach any more ideas? I'm not really sure what the original solution to this issue was.

If your built WDA was the latest version, but the "A screen capture was made impossible" error occurred, I guess your Xcode build had cached data. Then, generally, you can clean the Xcode cache environment by removing ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/.

As https://github.com/appium/appium-desktop/issues/1929#issuecomment-953048221, the error itself was by old WDA.

What about the result of non-appium:bundleId session (then, the device should open iOS's home screen instead of your test app)? (I guess you could not run WDA only as in my previous post)

Without bundle id its openning the home screen but not able to see snapshot in Appium inspector

It is expected as iOS 15's limitation. An automation session can run properly only when the overlay appears. https://github.com/appium/appium-xcuitest-driver#known-problems

It seems like your device failed to get the screenshot in https://github.com/appium/WebDriverAgent/blob/master/WebDriverAgentLib/Commands/FBScreenshotCommands.m#L33 by some reasons. (including XCTest framework itself failed to get the screenshot. Then, Appium can do nothing.)

You may need to debug the link's code and detect where returned nil data with Xcode since I have no such behavior's devices.

I did this opening the local host in my browser after launching the WDA on device but I am below screen.

Its not related to framework or anything first I want to find elements using Appium inspector because of that reason i want screenshot. and you can see the signing page as well:

I don't have iPhone X x iOS 15.3.1 env, but iPhone X and iOS 15.0 and RX x iOS 15.3 had no issues. Maybe this is not OS version specific... but potentially it has something the device-specific stuff.

Sorry, perhaps I don't understand this well... Do you mean you'd like to inspect the page without a screenshot via inspector like https://appium.io/docs/en/writing-running-appium/finding-elements/#repl?

Thank you. According to https://github.com/appium/appium-desktop/issues/1929#issuecomment-1207361120, your device has an issue or something. You may need to debug where caused the issue with Xcode. https://github.com/appium/WebDriverAgent/blob/master/WebDriverAgentLib/Commands/FBScreenshotCommands.m#L33 is the entry point. iPhone X x 15.3.1 worked on my env in addition to my previous post, so perhaps only you can debug the cause.

Potentially https://github.com/appium/appium/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#iosxcuitest fixes your case, then you can fix it by using newer Appium/XCUITest driver versions.

Hi @KazuCocoa, I am getting the screen shot when I am using simulators. But only when I am using the physical device I am not getting the screen shot in Appium.

Then, maybe this error is your device-specific stuff. Perhaps screenshotData around https://github.com/appium/WebDriverAgent/blob/master/WebDriverAgentLib/Utilities/FBScreenshot.m#L186 returned nil. If it was inside _XCT method, nothing can do on Appium/WDA side. Only Apple can fix/improve it.
