Appium desktop not starting, no logs in AppData

The problem

Appium desktop doesn't start on the latest version 1.21.0. I'm running it as administrator. No logs appear in the Appium logs folder in the 'appium-desktop' folder. Nothing in the Windows event viewer.

I Can start appium server without issues, however.

Environment

  • I am running Appium Desktop version 1.21.0
  • I am on (pick one):
    • [ ] Mac
    • [x] Windows
    • [ ] Linux

We're splitting out the Inspector from the Server. Try the latest Inspector beta at https://github.com/appium/appium-inspector/releases

Doesn't seem to work either.. I installed build 2021.5.1-beta.5. Does not start up. Any other program on my PC starts up fine.

OK. Unfortunately I'm not near my Windows machine for the next month or two, so I'll be unable to debug this myself. Hopefully other windows users will be able to report in on their experience.
