Graphs / Dashboards

Any plans on adding graphing capabilities, similar to Kibana?

Even just simple ones like bar / line / text based would be awesome.

@garygreen Kibana's graphing functionalities are pretty mature at this point. Any reason why someone would use them within Dejavu but not in Kibana? I am trying to understand the potential use-case here :-)

I see dejavu as a "lightweight" version of Kibana. In some ways, the two projects overlap in their goal which ultimately is this: to understand what's stored in Elastic Search and make sense of it.

Kibana isn't a small application by any means, it's complex but does have a lot of functionality.

The interesting aspects of dejavu is that it's a small library that is focused on providing insights into your data stored in ES and has a huge added advantage of being able to run as an a extension in your browser. It doesn't aim to be a monolithic "do everything" app, but instead provide value to the majority of people using it.

Graphing would definitely add a lot of value and interest to this project, particularly if you can create a customised "Dashboard" of stats aggregated from data stored in Elastic Search. Even if it's just the ability to create a very simple graph based on a raw query written by the user, it would still add a lot of interest and value to the project, IMO
