I retitled this to be a little more clear (I hope). The phrase "certain positions" seemed to have something to do with e.g. argument order. @zbraniecki please fix the title...

I mistakenly marked this as resolve candidate thinking this was addressed by requiring annotation for selectors, but of course that leaves placeholder defaulting... This is actually an important issue and...

I think this pertains the resource file formats and thus is now out-of-scope for MFv2 (but in scope for the other work)
