setting up traffic server as forward proxy unto several Sock5 tunnels
I am feeling extremely stupid for even asking this, because I feel like I should know how to do it, but I can not find anything in the docs or on the net about this, if this is the wrong place to ask please point me to the right place before removing/deleting this post and adding me to all-time-dumb people list.
My requirements are actually very simple, or at least I think they are.
I have a Lan with 4 clients. They must access the internet only and only via 3 out servers each allowing for socks5 tunneling via ssh or alternatively http proxy on the same servers (privoxy) these tunnels may be offline from time to time.
so how does one set up Traffic server as a forward caching proxy that would use any of these socks5 tunnels randomly? security is not an issue really. currently I am handling this through a bunch of python scripts modifying PAC setting which is not fun and no caching since squid keeps kicking my ass.
Is it possible for someone to point me to the right direction so i can set this up? ps: I am mainly trying to cache apt/pip/ and docker images etc.
I have virtually no limit on my hardware within the LAN --> lot of ram and CPU to dedicate to the traffic server

Did you ever find an answer to this question? I find myself in a similar spot now - no docs on SOCKs (rhyme not originally intended but hey, it worked out).
