Replace terms master/slave

Open asfimport opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

carlee.frosoni (Bug 66244): It's an offensive referral to an outdated concept. Master/slave should be replaced with primary/secondary or something unrelated to slavery or any other offensive, unacceptable concept.

Severity: normal OS: All

@pmouawad (migrated from Bugzilla): Hello, Can you tell us where you got this documentation ?

Indeed, we did the work of changing those terms months ago and if you look at the live documentation it does not contain those terms:

https://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/jmeter_distributed_testing_step_by_step.html

Maybe we missed some document.

Thank you

carlee.frosoni (migrated from Bugzilla): In what version were these terms removed from use in JMeter? I'd like to compare it to the version I'm using.

@pmouawad (migrated from Bugzilla): It was done in june 2020: https://github.com/apache/jmeter/commit/1a1984ae3f7ad0abc3745d85d61c811092f429aa

So probably released in JMeter 5.4:
