What is the problem the feature request solves?

Now comet read parqeut firstly using java，then pass it into Rust ScanExec, Can it read from scratch using rust?

hdfs read can use this crate: https://opendal.apache.org/docs/rust/opendal/services/struct.HdfsNative.html
