@smiklosovic I think this is CASSANDRA-17370, and indeed it could be done with a guardrail (a DisableFlag). Besides standarization, I think that doing this as a guardrail would give us the ability to exclude internal queries and superusers, better logging, extensibility and, in due time, diagnostic events and access through virtual tables.
