The plan to start using the new plugin viz types vs the legacy ones

I noticed that the new superset-ui-plugin such as superset-ui-plugin-chart-table are not even used by superset project. It is in the package.json but not be imported anywhere. Not sure if the superset-ui-plugin-chart-table is a drop-in replacement for the legacy one or it is completely different?

Is there any plan to retire the legacy plugins? If developer want to create their own viz type, should they still create from the template from the legacy plugin?
