[BUG] multipart rar keeps asking where to find the other files
Configuration Keka version: 1.1.29 macOS version: 10.13 high sierra
Describe the bug
If I have a 50+ volume "something.part01.rar" collecttion (unfortunately, audio software makers haven't all figured out torrents and/or custom installers yet), keka asks where to find more volumes, even when all the files are in the same dir.
It should probably only ask if the files are not in the same dir?
@Pomax this, similar to #564, is a sandbox limitation. Keka only has access to the files you drop to it or the folders it has in the file access preferences.
You can:
- Drop all 50+ files to Keka
- Select the parent folder when Keka asks for the rest of the volumes
- Manually give file access to Keka
Would it be possible to at least add something to Keka that tells users that? E.g a one-time dialog that goes "If you don't want to have to do things in the future, you can [......]"? Especially given that tons of applications don't need additional rights to any particular folder it seems odd that Keka would need additional explicit rights (after all, it lives in Applications
, and anything there had to be put there using admin rights, after which pretty those applications all seem to be perfectly capable of doing literally anything they wants to any file and subdir in the user's home dir)
The thing is that Keka is sandboxed so it's only able to read/write where the user gives access to.
You can let Keka access the folders you want without asking in the preferences: https://github.com/aonez/Keka/wiki/Sandbox
Probably adding some further information will help, thanks for that feedback :)
