How to use and Finder Extension

Open davemillier opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

Hi, i've installed the application. When i run it, I only see the small window that has zip in the top right corner, method selection, password, etc. I don't actually see the window that allows me to open zips, create zips, etc. also when I run the external helper it says it runs but then I don't see any options under right click in finder. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but as it is I can't use the application, thanks!

For details on both of these and more, see: https://github.com/aonez/Keka/wiki/Extracting-with-Keka

  1. The window you are seeing is the one, if you drag and drop onto that window it will change to look like this:

  1. The Finder options need to be selected at System Preferences

Looks like I can just drag and drop files onto that first screen I shared, not intuitive at all but I did work! :-) Not sure why extension in finder isn't working but at least I can password protect zip files, the #1 reason I bought Keka!

@davemillier you can use the drag & drop of files in the window and in the Keka app icon. For the Finder Extension check in the Keka preferences you have the folder/disk you need in the list:

Let me know if you still have issues seeing the Keka options in the contextual menu.
