Episode playback is freezing and killing kodi

Context

  • Add-on Version: 1.4.1 && 1.4.2.alpha2+matrix
  • Kodi Version: 19.1
  • Kodi GUI Language: German
  • Operating System: XBian
  • Operating System Language: German

Expected Behavior

When i start any episode (or movie) the plugin is not going to kill Kodi.

Current Behavior

When i start at least one specific (maybe also with others) i see the spinning wheel and nothing happens anymore. In the console i see that the CPU load is increasing dramatically and also the memory and swap gets filled up. Also the console (ssh) i going to be unresponsive after a few seconds. Not sure if this is relevant but this happens for a episode with 40 min durations. A different episode (also different show) with 20 min durations is working as expected.

Nevertheless its really unexpected that the plugin is going to kill the whole system.

Steps to Reproduce

Not really sure who this is reproducable on every machine but at least on mine

  1. Start a "specific" episode
  2. See your system die
