Horizontal Timeline View

Hi @antoniandre , The package is very good and fit my exact requirement. Great Work 👍 It would be more helpful, if we have an option to change the orientation. For example currently the time appears in the left side and the days comes at the top in week and day view. Can it be toggled so that the time slots comes on the top and the weekdays comes on the left, so that the events will be horizontal along with the time.

Hi @pramod-diatoz, thanks for your feedback. This is certainly helpful yes, I am adding it to the bottom of my to do list! Unfortunately I have a few other feature requests to implement first.

Do you have already a finishing date for this?

I would also suggest making it the orientation of the 'days' independent from the orientation of the 'times'. I can imagine a scenario where they layout would be a horizontal weekdays row, a horizontal time row just be low it. The vertical track could be for "day splits".

This would be awesome! @antoniandre your package here is already incredible, well done! But as requested here, a horizontal display of time instead of vertical would be amazing!

Thanks for your nice feedback @VincentVanclef. I see lots of devs are waiting for this feature, but to be frank this involves a huge refactoring of Vue Cal. It's not just CSS, a lot of calculations are made with the predicate that the layout is vertical since the beginning of Vue Cal. For instance event resizing or events overlapping.

I want to finish the started recurring events feature next. And this will come later.

I obviously lack of time to do all that - and other projects, but if anyone is willing to help I can brief you and you can start a proof of concept in a branch with my advice and active cheering! :)

First of all, amazing project you have here! I really hope to use it soon

I would like to add my vote to this request. I would like to use your package for a meeting room reservation system and the one thing I would really need is to be able to view multiple rooms on the left and the daily schedule for each room horizontally

Similar to how your John/Kate example shows but horizontally instead of vertically as in the current example

Do you foresee having the time to add this soon by any chance @antoniandre ?

Hi there @antoniandre, I want to take a stab at this but definitely would need your mentorship... Have the exact same use case as @vesper8 and although some other libraries would work, I believe this a great opportunity to do a relevant contribution to this awesome project. What are pertinent files/functions to start looking into and familiarizing myself with? So we can actually discuss this better when I have at least some understanding of the problem... Cheers.

@crisclacerda Any luck? Are you actively pursuing this goal currently?

vesper8 avatar Jul 30 '21 12:07 vesper8

@vesper8 I wasn't yet. But I am starting to dig this now as I finally need to implement this for a work project.. From my first impression I have no idea how to achieve that yet...I am primarily a backend guy and I am only marginally familiar with html and css... So I would really need @antoniandre help here but unfortunately he seems rather unresponsive lately...

@crisclacerda I feel you... I've started a project now that uses vue-cal and I'm a bit nervous about using it because there have been no updates in a long time.. the only updates seem to be on the Vue3 branch and even those have not seen any activity in a while, and my project is in Vue2 anyway. At the same time, I can't find any other library that seems to support the same features as this library so I am kind of stuck.

any update on this?

Hi everyone.

I found vue-cal to be the best package for features it provides. I'm really grateful for all the work you guys put into this project.

May I ask if there are any updates on this issue? @crisclacerda did you or anyone else have any luck in implementing this?
