Improve TTFHW (Time to first hello world)

Open oren opened this issue 8 years ago • 6 comments

It took me 30 minutes to get a working 'hello wolrd'. I wrote this repo https://github.com/oren/test-disque that can be copy pasted from readme. I think we should add an example folder with nice readme that will reduce TTFHW to 1 minute. It can even be in a separate repo.

Hello, I can provide a script very similar to the one I provide in the Redis distribution, that can spawn an N-nodes Disque cluster just with "script.sh create; script.sh start". This way we can make the hello world a no brainer at all. Makes sense?

it seems the project is quite stale, but I would suggest a docker-compose ?

The codebase seems dormant but I assure you that the creator isn't. Expect Disque-new-and-improved-as-a-Redis-v4-module soon :)
