[BUG] Claude Code not responding despite all green status page

Environment

• Platform (select one): Claude Code / Anthropic API
• Claude CLI version: 1.0.35 (Claude Code)
• Operating System: WSL
• Terminal: PowerShell

Bug Description

Claude Code is stuck at the step where a verb is displayed based on the user query and time starts running up, but no tokens are exchanged and it doesn't time out (at least not in a reasonable time).

Anthropic status is all green: https://status.anthropic.com/

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Claude Code on Windows in WSL
2. Ask it any question, even "What's up?" will trigger this
3. See the program is not stuck in the sense that it would be frozen but no communication occurs

~~Hmmm, of course this went away the moment I filed this issue. I would still like to know how to investigate when this happens further though. Especially because the Claude Desktop app was working the whole time, so it probably wasn't a problem with the accessibility of the models.~~ Not fixed, just working intermittently.

Same. For me it works when i reinstall the wsl, but after a restart of my pc, sometimes of wsl, it stops working.

It seemed that could be a problem with the timestamp and the time sync of the wsl, but only one time it has repaired claude

This seems to be happening with increasing frequency now and intermittently (one session, it works fine, another, it stalls). This is while the Claude status page shows all green for Claude Code. Restarting the sessions does not help when it happens. Restarting WSL as a whole does not reliably fix it either, as @JitaDesWadyas mentioned. Claude Code is not cheap, I'd hope for complete service interruptions like this to not happen and when they do, to be treated seriously, not met with silence by the maintainers. :/ The WSL stopgap really isn't ideal, I really hope a native Windows version is going to come out soon.

Closing as I think the Anthropic page isn't faithful at all times and this was just another manifestation of the rate limits described in all the other error 529 tickets. Also this kept happening to me when I was using CC in WSL which I no longer need to because of the native support shipped yesterday. IDK if this was related to WSL or not, but since I can use a native Windows build now, I don't care.
