Feature: Extend session limits to 24h and align weekly resets to UTC Monday
Feature Request
Goal: Improve session management to better support global distributed teams and accumulated work sessions.
Current Behavior
- Session limits are restrictive and don't allow for accumulation of work
- Weekly limits reset at unclear times, not aligned with a global work week
Proposed Changes
1. Extend Session Limits to 24 Hours
- Allow session limits to accumulate over a 24-hour period
- This enables longer, uninterrupted workflows for complex tasks
- Better aligns with typical work day lengths across different time zones
2. Align Weekly Limits Reset to Monday 00:00 UTC
- Reset weekly limits on Monday at 00:00 UTC (Universal Coordinated Time)
- This provides a clear, predictable reset time for global teams
- Aligns with the standard business week definition
- Supports fair allocation across time zones worldwide
Benefits
- ✅ Better support for global distributed teams
- ✅ Clear, predictable reset schedule (Monday UTC)
- ✅ More flexible session management for longer workflows
- ✅ Improved developer experience for time-zone agnostic work
Use Case
Many developers work across multiple time zones or have different work schedule patterns. A 24-hour session window with Monday UTC weekly resets would provide consistency and fairness globally while supporting extended work sessions without artificial interruptions.
Current 4h sessioning does not allow for hackathon and workhorse grind. The wold clock should already ensure developer spread of usage.
