Fraudulent issue management - #12172 closed with fake workaround, bug unfixed
Primary Issue: Fraudulent issue management practices
Issue #12172 was closed on December 20, 2025 through fraudulent means:
- Fake documentation added for a workaround that doesn't work
- Issue falsely marked as resolved when bug remains unfixed
- Critical bug deliberately hidden by fraudulent closure
Original Bug (Still Present)
#12172: Write tool creates files with hardcoded 0600 permissions, violating Unix umask conventions and breaking multi-user environments.
Current status: UNFIXED AND BROKEN
Fraudulent Closure Pattern
The issue was closed after documenting a PostToolUse hook workaround. However:
- The workaround does not function as documented
- Users are still experiencing the bug
- The Write tool still creates files with wrong permissions
- Documentation falsely claims the issue is resolved
This is Fraud
Closing bugs with non-functional workarounds while claiming resolution is fraudulent issue management. This is not legitimate project governance.
I cannot reopen #12172 myself, so I am filing this report to document the fraudulent closure.
Required Actions
- Reopen #12172 immediately
- Investigation required - identify who is fraudulently closing issues without fixes and why
- Process review required - establish accountability for fraudulent issue closures
- Fix the Write tool to respect umask (the actual bug)
- Audit all recently closed issues for similar fraudulent closures
Bugs must remain open until they are actually fixed in the codebase. Closing issues with fake workarounds is fraud.
