[BUG] Impossible to use a jpeg/jpg image to claude code

Environment

  • Claude CLI version: 1.0.2 (Claude Code)
  • Operating System: MacOS
  • Terminal: iTerm2 & Ghosty

Bug Description

When sending a jpg or jpeg screenshot, claude code respond with an error 400 from the anthropic API saying this is not png. This error persist even though I'm sending a png right away. I need to kill claude code and relaunch it.

Expected Behavior

  1. Ability to see jpg/jpeg and not only png
  2. The error should not persist when sending a .jpg then a .png

Thanks for the report. I can reproduce the issue and have a fix in mind.

Fixed in v1.0.3. You should now be able to paste in jpg paths as images.
