I can't install Ant Media Server on Raspberry Pi 4b+

Open leokwsw opened this issue 4 years ago • 12 comments

I used Ubuntu Server 20.04, Ubuntu Core 18, Ubuntu Meta 20.04 on Raspberry Pi. when terminal installing it, also say missed 'libcrystalhd-dev' then return me out.

But I used Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 on Mac (10.15.7) with Parallels Desktop 16, it is success to install.

How I can successfully install it on my raspberry pi?

I am having the same issue. Running on a Ubuntu VMware virtual machine it installs perfectly but on the Pi I also get "missed 'libcrystalhd-dev'" error. Have you found a solution to this?

What tutorials are you following? I think it is a problem with the AMSinstall.sh is not referencing the AMS zip file correctly. I am just guessing. I will be looking into this further over the next few days.

hi Guys,

Ant Media Server ARM 64 support will come in next release. It's not available in current(2.3) and older releases.

I'm guessing it didn't come in 2.3.1 afterall? Any idea if its planned for 2.3.2? Thanks for your time.

Hi @waveformIE ,

Yeah it didn't come in 2.3.1. It's in PR and I think we'll merge it for v2.3.2.

You can see on https://antmedia.io/latest-snapshot when it's merged and available in the latest snapshot.

Hi,

When we send a broadcast(WebRTC or RTMP) to Ant Media Server v2.4.3 on Raspberrypi 3+, the CPU is around 50% and after a while, it stops working due to insufficient system resources. In short, unfortunately, Ant Media Server does not work on RaspberryPi 3+ properly due to low CPU resources.

[rtmp @ 0x5582d496e880] Server error: current system resources not enough
rtmp://192.168.1.122/WebRTCAppEE/stream1: Operation not permitted

In addition, if WebRTC is disabled, resource consumption would be less.

You need to change the below line into the application configuration file. Its path is something like this: /usr/local/antmedia/webapps/#app name#/WEB-INF/red5-web.properties

settings.webRTCEnabled=true

to

settings.webRTCEnabled=false

then restart the Ant Media Server.

systemctl restart antmedia
