What endpoints should it have?

The existence of nodedb makes it obvious that people want names for nodes. While this is understandable, most will agree a centralized repository is not the best long term option.

There are major issues with using something resembling a gTLD like .hype. I'm very interested in alternatives that provide a human readable name without relying on centralized authorities. How can we allow people to register a name with a system without having a single gatekeeper (or group thereof)?
