zabbix_sender is not installed with agent2 on Windows

SUMMARY

zabbix_sender utility is currently installed on Linux regardless of installed agent variant. On Windows zabbix_sender is installed only with agent1. This behavior matches with installation packages provided by Zabbix vendor. Upstream issue ZBX-18750 already exists for this.

We could either:

• Download archives for both agent variants and take zabbix_sender from agent1 archive. Possibly make installation of zabbix_sender optional to prevent unnecessary download.
• Wait till upstream fixes this in installation packages, for now.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Install Zabbix agent 2 on Windows using zabbix_agent role.

EXPECTED RESULTS

Have zabbix_sender installed for both agent variants.

zabbix_sender is installed only with agent1.

I could go with either option although looking at the upstream ticket, it doesn't appear to be going anywhere any time soon.

I had same issue with 6.2.3 but I upgraded my Zabbix agents with 6.2.4 and I confirm the zabbix_sender and zabbix_get are now installed.
