Ping always 0ms
Hello. Thanks for your wonderful container! For some reason ping not measured and always 0ms everywhere regardless of the speedtest server
root@s367:~# docker exec 4871380ade6d measure
{'Server ID': 'speedtest.wtnet.de:8080', 'Sponsor': '', 'Server Name': '', 'Timestamp': '2024-12-25T07:56:02+00:00', 'Distance': '', 'Ping': '0', 'Download': '31501765.260276', 'Upload': '390127512.304526', 'Share': '', 'IP Address': 'x.x.x.x'}
I'm not really sure where to start on this issue but your up/down seems absurdly high as well. I mean, if it's such a performant optic fiber (I assume), is it possible that your ping to this particular server is actually less than a millisecond?
It is fast machine with 10gbps. I rent other dedicated machines that have 1gbit in different countries and all shows 0ms. Expected 20-80ms
I see! Can you try compiling SpeedTest++ yourself and test it directly?
SpeedTest --output json --test-server librarian.comstar.ru:8080
well yes, it also shows 0ms so problem not with plotter
root@le1mp3-1-10:~/SpeedTest# SpeedTest --output json --test-server librarian.comstar.ru:8080
{"client":{"ip":"xxx","lat":"60.1695","lon":"24.9354","isp":"magnacapax"},"server":{"host":"librarian.comstar.ru:8080"},"ping":"0","jitter":"0","download":"796981719.812223","upload":"694566804.911060","_":"all ok"}
Same server with official speedtest
root@le1mp3-1-10:~# speedtest -s 10987

Huh, weird. At first I though that it might be those specific test servers because I also get 0 ms when I use that --test-server librarian.comstar.ru:8080. But it also happens when I use any other specific server like sp1.netkom-line.de:8080. Only when I omit the --test-server flag entirely and let SpeedTest choose its server automatically do I get a proper latency measurement.
But yeah, it seems that's a taganaka/SpeedTest issue and not with speedtest-plotter :/
