Missing begin of document

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. If I compile the example files  with LaTeX, there are some errors, the first 
is: Missing \begin{document}


What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Operating system: Windows 7 Enterpise, 64 bit, MikTeX 64 bit, TeXMaker.

Please provide any additional information below.
At the page of the project I found that if I have this problem my xkeyval 
package is too old, but I use a version from 2012, and this is the up to date 
version.
