Request: Add variable for today's date

I have a thing in the frontmatter called "DateStarted" that I previously combined with the Templater plugin, so that when I insert that template it would automatically add today's date, in the format YYYY-MM-DD.

would it be possible to add something to this plugin? So that when you add a book note it automatically gets today's date.
