[FEATURE]: CDN in front of opencode install latest release download
Feature hasn't been suggested before.
- [x] I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.
Describe the enhancement you want to request
Have you guys considered adding some kind of faster CDN in front of opencode install latest release? Github Release isn't very reliable / fast, on CIs it takes more than 1 minute to install.
I keep seeing DHH saying CloudFlare is serving Omarchy ISO and it's pretty fast, i think you guys probably can get CF to serve it for free and improve UX for everyone, making pretty quick install.
tagging @iamdavidhill as it's kind of a design / ux and related to his recent work on improving install / onboarding
This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues or related to reported problems. Please check:
- #3539: Opencode Upgrade Fails - User experienced upgrade failures downloading from GitHub releases
- #2576: Brew upgrade opencode not found 404 - 404 errors when downloading releases
While these are primarily bug reports about download failures rather than feature requests, they highlight the underlying reliability concerns that this CDN proposal aims to address. The slow/unreliable GitHub release downloads mentioned in this issue could be the root cause of the failures in those tickets.
Feel free to ignore if your specific use case differs from these reports.
I think Dax talked about something like this once when github api kept having issues
