I am not actively developing this part of imatlab these days, but am still happy to look at PRs.
I would probably consider a PR splitting the `fig2plotly` exporter in imatlab_export_fig to e.g. `plotly-online` / `plotly-offline` (assuming that you have a way to make the `plotly-online` version truly not...
There should be two options: - one to generate a notebook file that works without internet connection at all, embedding all the relevant js in the notebook file - one...
I have no idea at all what's happening, and realistically won't be investigating this in the coming weeks (other priorities...). But I'll still consider PRs.

Unfortunately I don't have readily access to a fedora machine anymore these days.
Perhaps trying a docker image on GHA would work indeed. Sorry, I (mostly) don't have access anymore to the old fedora machine of the original (private) bug reports.
Interestingly, I cannot reproduce the issue. I note that you are using the macosx backend, which I do not have access too; can you first check whether the same issue...
