The library does not work in Google Chrome or Firefox

Hi there,

I'm not able to test your latest version in your site (or even downloading the latest release) as it does not allow me to annotate anything.

I'm using Chrome 49.0.2623.75 (64-bit). In Firefox it happens the same. Worst thing? I don't get any errors on your site via the console. Thus, I don't know how can I debug it.

Any ideas?

Hi,

which site are you testing on? Seems to work on e.g. http://annotorious.github.io/demos/hello-world.html

I've been testing it in that specific site. I've tried with Incognito mode too. Also with Chromium. In all the cases it happens the same: nothing. How can I debug it?

Hm. Weird. I can't reproduce this. Works on Chromium (50.0.2661.102, 64bit) and FF 47.0. Without being able to reproduce it, the only way to debug, I'm afraid, will be to clone the repository and run it from source. Instructions

Hello, I face the same issue. In my case, it is not work in Chrome(53.0.2785.143 m) but work in firefox(47.0.1 ,48.0.2 and 49.0.1), IE11 and Edge. Is there anyone faced the same issue and got it fix?

The problem is that on touch screens, the mouse based annotations do not work in Chrome. If you simply touch the screen, you can add annotations, however if you use the mouse it does not. Hopefully this has been fixed in the latest release.

@pobrob WOW Thanks for the info. My laptop has a touchscreen, so Chrome uses it, and therefore that's why I guess it was not working. I'll try with my fingers instead of the mouse and report back.

Correct. It does not work with the mouse if there's a touch screen.
