Convert CardTemplateEditor Screen to Have Consistent Styling When Fragmented
When the CardTemplateEditor screen is displayed in a fragmented layout (typically on larger screens), it shows the Card Template Previewer alongside the editor itself. Currently, there is an inconsistency in styling between these two components:
- Card Template Previewer is wrapped in a MaterialCardView to give it a clean, elevated appearance.
- CardTemplateEditor uses a plain LinearLayout
This mismatch in styling is visually inconsistent and detracts from the overall UX when fragmented.
Proposed Solution
- Wrap the left-hand side (CardTemplateEditor) in a MaterialCardView when displayed in a fragmented layout, to visually match the previewer.
- Ensure the padding, margins, and elevation align with the previewer’s MaterialCardView to maintain visual coherence.
- This will also be relevant for future work involving adding card previewers to the Note Editor, ensuring consistent styling across editing UIs.

Hello! 👋 Thanks for logging this issue. Please remember we are all volunteers here, so some patience may be required before we can get to the issue. Also remember that the fastest way to get resolution on an issue is to propose a change directly, https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/wiki/Contributing
I have some extra free time this week, I'll see if I can get this in. Should not be too hard,
Please keep at as it is when not showing the preview. Smaller screens already suffer from line length.
