Fixed my issue. Shame you cant install unsigned extensions on newer firefox builds without the dev specific branches. Wish they would bring that feature back to the main branches. Hope this can get added soon.

Tried to install it and it does nearly the same as the one on the Mozilla store except it just hangs the video and does not let it run as a normal video while the video window text is displayed [as the one on the store erroneously does] and the same happens to the shorts. It doesn't affect the preview on hovering on shorts or normal videos while displaying the text. It happens in two steps:

  • hanging on the thumbnail image
  • displaying the error after about 10 seconds image

OS: Kernel: 6.5.11-1-MANJARO arch: x86_64 bits: 64 Firefox version: 120.0 (64-bit)
