input-container(select): missing the md-errors-spacer div
When a md-select has an error, the height of the input-container changes because there is no md-errors-spacer to preserve the height of the container when there are no errors (like input has)

+1 I think the space of the error shouldn't be applied to all input containers. It looks weird that a container which has an error handling has more space than a container without. In my opinion all containers should apply same spacing.

Can this be re opened? this causes a lot of issues and is really difficult to fix with custom CSS.

I'm going to do some work on this soon.
