Feature request: Different kinds of engines

Open exalented opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Expand the project to encompass not only 4 stroke, but 2 stroke engines and diesel internal combustion engines. Displacement sizes, modified exhausts and the type of engine can sound vastly different from one another.

Yeah, i wonder if he will add that

probably diesel he will not do because cause its a whole different combustion system then normal gas engines that the software is for, though maybe they will add the other engine types.

he could do it beacause diesel is simpe, just add a pressure and temp simulation

Maybe a radial engine, say 7 or 9 cylinders. He did say in the video that it could do odd numbers...

Radial engines and other weird configurations of 4 stroke engines are already possible iirc. What is not possible right now is engines without valves (2 stroke) or without spark plugs (diesel).

adding on this, would like to see different variations of valvetrain

pushrod SOHC variable valve lift and timing abilities Rocker arms etc.

right now seems to be set up for just DOHC direct valve actuation (cam actuates the valve directly)
