Seems the app has been removed from the google play store
Trying to download the app but the link provided here only leads to a page saying the URL is not on the server. How can I download the latest version?
Unfortunately, the app has been removed from Google Play by Google due to a complaint from the developer of the original version of "Bitcoin Checker" https://github.com/mobnetic/BitcoinChecker. I tried to contact him to get permission to continue developing the free app, but got no response.
If you already have the app installed, it will continue to work, but will not be updated. You won't be able to reinstall the app.
No further plans yet.
This is the best alert app ever, hope you can get something similar going. Haven't ever found anything remotely as good
To @mobnetic: The original app was not updated for 5 years, but you complain when someone else continues on your open source project? I can't understand that.
@aneonex Can you upload the latest apk here on Github as a release?
Edit: I found an alternative source for the apk, but one can never be sure if these are original files. @aneonex Can you confirm that this checksum of the v2.64.1 apk file is correct? SHA-1: 6939af2bef2e860b4ac2ea7ed8a0916de3f6d3a9
@aneonex can you please mirror the APK somewhere with a checksum for the binary, or just open source the entire app? I cloned and built the data module, but it would be nice to be able to just build this app ourselves from source, I've used it for years and now with a new phone the APK from my old phone doesn't run.
I guess we'd need to change the name sufficiently to relaunch it in the store.
We need to fight this, Hopefully they let you change the name to a different name and people still get their update from the store.
Is there a war to send an message to users from the app?
If this does get relaunched could we get an update where an alert condition can be set to date and time please?

This is just the data engine the entire app isn't open source otherwise I would do it right now.

I think the developer has not done anything with this app (aside from getting it removed from google recently) since around 2018 from what I can tell. Someone needs to make new app similar fashion, this very good app, need this in order to have proper alerts. I would pay for app

@aneonex can you please just open source the Bitcoin Checker app so we can build this apk for ourselves?
would be nice if you can report if it works, dumped it from my main phone to install it on second one, but it force closes when trying to add an exchange. would be good to know before i try to flash another rom ;)
I've been using the app since 2016 -- the original one, developed by Mobnetic, who seem to be the bad guys now 😮
After all these years, I don't see any other app as good as this one.
Is there any way to support/fund the development, so this 2nd iteration of Bitcoin Checker does not die like the first one?
Try the new app "Crypto Alerts" - it's an alternative to the old Bitcoin Checker.
