Tried the image, but kappa boots into a black screen.

Found the reason why. It has not even copied the rootfs files. The last thing the script outputs is "/home/linux/chromebooks/tmpdir mount(2) system call failed: File Exists."

Sorry, I didn't have much time. I will test this sometime in this week.

Can you build from your side? I tried building with latest master, but it won't mount. I am busy this week. Will post output soon.

You need root or sudo permissions. It says that clearly.

Have you extracted the .gz file. If so, then rename the .img extension to .bin, install chromebook recovery utility, then click the settings icon on the top right, and select...

it may be of use to use a newer compiler, from new ubuntu versions. ubuntu 23.10 just released, so you could try that package.
